About TCM
TCM is about Jesus, Faith, and Christian Living. The truth found in scriptures is faithfully expressed and explained here. Sure, there are many versions of the truth proposed on a multitude of sites; however, what if everyone just let the Bible speak for itself? The ESV and NASB95 versions are used in the displays unless otherwise noted. Studies are done in many versions. Bible dictionaries are used; commentaries are also used, but sparingly.
Quick Bible Summary
The Old Testament spans from the beginning of Earth's existence (created by God, who has always been, is now, and always will be) to the last prophet, Malachi. This covenant was for the Hebrews, stemming from the promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Although the covenant was primarily for the Jews, it serves as a teacher for us today, instructing us about the advent of Jesus and the establishment of the new covenant.he Old Testament spans from the beginning of Earth's existence (created by God, who has always been, is now, and always will be) to the last prophet, Malachi. Although the covenant was primarily for the Jews, it serves as a teacher for us today, instructing us about the advent of Jesus and the establishment of the new covenant.
Today, we are under the covenant established through Jesus Christ. That new covenant is called the New Testament. It's God's covenant with all people everywhere, enacted by Jesus through his death and resurrection.
It's good news, referred to as "the gospel" in the New Testament. From it, we learn the following:
Jesus is our Lord, Savior, Brother, and Friend.
He substituted His life for ours in payment for our sins - sin in the Bible means “missing the mark”. The result is spiritual death, eternal separation from the Father, and indescribable torment.
Not only did Jesus pay for our sins, but he also rose from the dead on the third day, just as he had said would happen.
By His resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death for everyone, opening the gates of heaven for anyone who desires to be there by faithful obedience to Him.
To enter heaven, each person must adhere to God's plan of salvation, made possible by Jesus' death and resurrection.
The Father has a plan for salvation. To be saved, we must follow His plan. If we follow a man-made church, we have no hope for heaven. He has only one way that we might secure salvation. It’s in the New Testament. Jesus and the apostles explain the plan.
